Spain adds 700 MW wind, 300 MW PV

Spain installed 700 MW of wind and nearly 300 MW of photovoltaic capacity in October as additions ramp up before a year-end deadline, REE data showed November 20. Wind capacity additions for 2019 have reached 1.2 GW while PV capacity has grown 1.8 GW since the start of the year, the fastest growth in renewable capacity since 2008. Wind capacity stood at 24.7 GW at the end of October and PV at 6.5 GW. Spanish total installed power generation capacity has risen to a new record of 106.8 GW thanks to the October additions, surpassing a previous high of 105.8 GW set in 2013, according to REE data.
