MidAmerican Energy Holdings Q1 net up 25.7% to record $313 million

MidAmerican Energy Holdings net income rose 25.7% to a first-quarter record $313 million, with a full three months' contribution from PacifiCorp, acquired from ScottishPower March 21, 2006 for $5.11 billion in cash. At PacifiCorp itself, however, net sagged 32.9% from the whole first quarter of 2006, to $98 million, reflecting lower "mark-to-market" gains in revenue, partially offset by lower power costs. In first-quarter 2006, PacifiCorp net totaled $146 million, of which $137 million went to ScottishPower and $9 million to Holdings.
