Alliant Energy's net income gained 25.1% to $60.8 million, the third straight second-quarter record, as the settlement of federal income tax audits and higher nonregulated profits more than offset lower utility earnings from the June Iowa floods and the coldest Q2 in at least five years. Total revenue was up 10.8% to $827.4 million. Earnings per share dipped 2.3% to 55 cents, on 110.17 million average basic shares, down 2.3%, and 110.32 million diluted, down 2.4%.
