MANITOU TELEHANDLER WAS FIRST - AND ONLY - CHOICE FOR E&L CONSTRUCTION

When you're planning to invest in a new machine and your driver tells you it must be another Manitou, you don't have much choice, as Emmett McGivern who heads up E&L Construction Services Limited recently discovered. The company's latest acquisition, from dealers Northern Lift Trucks, is a Manitou MT1840 telehandler which has been designed for high rise work. "We've been running Manitous for the past few years and this new machine was particularly bought for one of our drivers as he had specifically asked for it; he wouldn't drive anything else!" Emmett admitted. He added: "That wasn't a problem, though, because our experience of the Manitou brand has always been very positive; they are great machines, versatile and always reliable on site." As Emmett's operators appreciate, MT1840 is a very comfortable machine, with a spacious cab and controls that can all be worked from the joystick. Equally at home on uneven terrain, it has a generous ground clearance and tight turning radius, so manoeuvrability never becomes an issue on busy or restricted sites. All-round visibility from the cab is also excellent, even in wet weather thanks to standard wipers at the front, rear, side and roof, all of which contributes to the health and safety of those working in close proximity, making the MT1840 an ideal machine for E&L Construction, which was formed just over three years ago; the company is involved in commercial, retail and housing developments.
