Dow Chemical PolyPipe Team Up To Offer New High Performance Bimodal PE2708

When it comes to gas distribution networks, there is nothing more important than safety and quality for gas distribution products, such as plastic pipe. Slow crack growth (SCG) and rapid crack propagation (RCP) are rare, but significant catastrophic pipe failure modes that can result in progressive cracking of the pipe product when a pressurized pipeline is subjected to a sudden or intense impact. Recently, Dow Chemical Company partnered with PolyPipe®, Inc. to offer the new High Performance PE2708 manufactured from Dow® Continuum™ DGDA 2420 bimodal resin that provides resistance to both of these pipe failure modes. This resin exceeds the cell clas- sification requirements for ASTM PE2708 and ISO PE 80 materials.
