摘要

In this paper the concept of trapping biological nano-particles, by utilizing Dielectrophoresis (DEP). is investigated in a system of parallel electrode arrays. The method is analyzed using a Smoluchowski equation that describes the time evolution of the concentration of the particles.rnA modification is introduced in the Smoluchowski equation in order to take into account the finite particle dimensions and therefore constrain the maximum possible concentration to physically realistic limits. The results are finally compared with the non-steric case and for different particle sizes of the steric model.
