Background Today, transvaginal ultrasound measurement of cervical length (CL) is done in all women presenting with threatened spontaneous preterm labor (PTL). Rapid measurement of fetal fibronectin (fFN) in the cervicovaginal secretions is proposed for a better screening of the PTL.
