Valmet's Seasonal Donation Goes for Girls' Education, Catastrophe Aid and Forest Conservation

In 2014, Valmet has decided to donate funds to three global humanitarian and conservation organisations: Plan, the Red Cross and WWF. The selected organisations work for global campaigns to ensure education for girls in developing countries, provide humanitarian help in catastrophe areas and help conserve forests. The donation will be directed to the global campaigns through the organisations' Finnish units. "As a truly global company and in the spirit of the coming holiday season, we want to support three globally acknowledged humanitarian and conservation organisations. We will donate in total EUR 17,500 (USD20,503) to these organisations based on the ranking of our personnel voting. This year most of the votes went to Plan's 'Because I am a girl1 campaign, which will receive the majority of the donation," says Anu Salonsaari-Posti, Senior Vice President, Marketing and Communications, Valmet.
