European preform maker expands recycling facility

APPE (www.appepackaging.com), one of Europe's leading converters of PET preforms and bottles, has been recognized with a Beyond the Package Award in the 2011 Greener Package Awards competition for the expansion of its PET recycling plant. In spring 2010, APPE completed a €10 million (approximately US$14million) investment in its Beaune, France, recycling plant, increasing the facility's capacity by 40%, from 25,000 tonnes to 35,000 tons.
