AT the time of going to press, the Advertising Standards Authority of SA (ASA) had ruled that Tiger Brands' Albany bread product's packaging claim of 'biodegradable bag' was unsubstantiated (see the full story on page 5). However, Tiger has submitted further information to ASA and it's unlikely that we've seen the end of this debate between plastics recyclers, represented by the Plastics Convertors Association (PCA), and this fast-moving consumer " packaged goods company, or indeed any other company seeking to do the same thing.
