SGS looks to China as part of Asia plan

Design and brand management group SGS International is considering opening an office in mainland China as part of plans to expand its Asian presence, Packaging News can reveal. SGS already has a base in Hong Kong, which it acquired in 2003, and runs a site in Manila in the Philippines that opened two years ago, but is hoping to establish a base in mainland China soon. SGS chief executive Brian McGrath told Packaging News he would be travelling to Shanghai in the coming weeks to investigate opportunities with the international group's newly-appointed managing director for Asia, Paul Hornsby.
