摘要

Diseases such as diarrhoea, malaria and respiratory tract infections remain the major common causes of morbidity and mortality in Kenya. The African Medical and Research Foundation (AMREF) in partnership with the Ministries of Education, and Health implemented a four year (2000-2004) PHASE project covering 247 primary schools in 10 districts, reaching about 74,000 pupils aged 6-13 years, their parents siblings and teachers. This paper describes how primary schools can be a valid entry point for health promotion with pupils, teachers and other household members.
