The stakes in francophone health promotion research

For some years now, in different ways across the world according to public health priorities, health ministries have initiated numerous information sensitising campaigns, and organized training for health professionals and the population. Following the example of several countries in the North, as well as others in the South, public health interventions with a 'health promotion and health education' angle are widely recognized in Luxembourg. In 2005, for example, a total of 60 health promotion and health education interventions distributed across 13 public-health-related areas were organized or supported by the Ministry of Health of Luxembourg (1).
