The Swedish Ministry of Defense, through the Swedish Defense Materiel Administration, originally sponsored the BONUS program. In March 1993, the French Ministry of Defense joined the program, funding the final development of the submunition and artillery projectile. Licensees. None Status. Development through serial production. Total Produced. Through 2010, we estimate the contractor team produced 19,722 BONUS projectiles, along with the appropriate submunitions. Application. A submunition-dispensing artillery projectile optimized for long-range engagement of massed armor formations. Price Range. In 2011 U.S. dollars, the BONUS projectile (with two BONUS submunitions) reportedly maintains a unit price of $27,620.
