Abstract. We present an efficient laser welding assembling sequencenfor minimizing the misalignment from the postweld shift in butterfly pack-nages during fiber-to-semiconductor laser coupling. The misalignmentnfrom the postweld shift that arises during the welding of a nickel clip andnmetal ferrule can be compensated by an optimal initial shift prior tonNd:YAG laser welding and by a mechanical adjustment prior to the lasernhammering process.
