摘要

To explore the linkages between key features of the new product development process using a computer model in order to achieve improved performance. Various key features of the new product development process are considered to study their influences on product development performance. Particularly, the trade-off between the performance measures of development time and effort is studied from the perspective of influences of overlapping of development phases and functional interaction. The impact of moderating feature uncertainty is also considered. The computer model set-up is simulated, and the features are studied with two process approaches: concurrent engineering and sequential engineering. (32 refs.)
