Workshop Summary - Hot Topics in Storage and File Systems

We wanted to take this opportunity to provide the SIGOPS community and OSR readers a short report on a new event that took place in October in snowy Montana - the first Workshop on Hot Topics in Storage and File Systems (HotStorage 2009).rnThis workshop builds on the success of the USENIX File and Storage Technologies (FAST) conference that has created a vibrant community of storage researchers and industry practitioners over the past eight years - the eighth conference will take place next month in San Jose. The addition of a workshop for new and innovative ideas in storage and file systems had been overdue.
