Two internet librarian conferences took place on the exact same dates in October 2016-one in Monterey, Calif., and the other in London. You'd think that only in a science-fiction story involving time travel or a "Beam me up, Scotty" application could one person speak at both conferences. Yet Dutch librarian Erik Boekesteijn managed that feat without actually setting foot in either venue. He was physically at the European Parliament in Brussels as part of the "Generation Code: Born at the Library" exhibition. In Monterey, he reflected on the past 20 years of Internet Librarian as part of an hour and a half evening session (youtube.com/watch?v=f3aTRPCti_8) and spoke in a panel discussion about library game changers at Internet Librarian International in London, making both appearances via video. Internet Librarian (internet-librarian.infotoday.com/2016) had Bring It On: Act for Impact as this year's theme, while Internet Librarian International (internet-librarian.com) bills itself as The Library Innovation Conference.
