ExxonMobil set to close lube oil plant

ExxonMobil plans to shutter a lube oil plant in Bayonne, N.J., at month's end, sources say. The plant produces finished lubes for commercial distribution and sale as motor oil. Some 40 employees work at the facility and the company is trying to reassign them, according to local press reports. The plant is located next to the International-Matex Tank Terminal. It is said to include 250 tanks with a total storage capacity of 34.4 million gallons, various filling lines for product packaging, an oceangoing vessel pier, a 15,000 square foot warehouse with loading racks, and a rail car loading and unloading facility. ExxonMobil could not be reached for comment at presstime.
