ExxonMobil beefs up Web locator for branded stations

ExxonMobil will try to drive some vehicle traffic to its stations through Google mapping technology. The company has launched a new and improved locator feature on its website, complete with directions to stations as well as information on services at those branded sites. The major says that state-of-the-art mapping technology should help customers plan driving routes and identify all of the Exxon and Mobil branded stations along the way. Turn-by-turn driving directions will be available, as well as detail on stations that have service bays, diesel fuel, ATMs, and car washes. The station locators are also intended to serve as the "online face" for each retail location. Customers can search locations by clicking "find a service station" after they visit www.exxon.com, www.mobil.com and www.exxonmobil.com.
