CITGO has told marketers that all branded gas stations in its network must install its "Centennial" image program or face debranding by the end of this year, according to a schedule for the image project obtained by Oil Express. At the same time, the major has upped its passing score for quarterly mystery shopper examinations at branded stations to 80% from 75%. Like other majors, CITGO uses the mystery shopper program to enforce image standards at its stations. Typically, repeat failures can lead to debranding.
