In an effort to seek discounts, 43% of consumers have used a loyalty card or app and 16% have used a specific credit card, suggesting fuel rewards programs are influencing spending patterns, according to an update to the NACS Retail Fuel Report. The data also suggest that consumers are receptive to buy-one-get-one or buy-one-get-discount promotions since 14% of respondents purchased an additional item at the gas station such as a carwash or something in the store to get a bargain.
