EG purchases Sprint chain, adds presence in two states

Weeks after calling off the $1 billion purchase of Adsa fuelstations in the U.K., EG Group has agreed to purchase SprintFood Stores Inc., a U.S. chain of 34 company-operated fueland convenience sites, according to an announcement.The deal gives EG America a presence in Georgia andSouth Carolina as well as the proprietary "Sprint Kitchen" foodservice brand, offering a broad selection of made-in-storehot food such as fried chicken, pizza and breakfast items. Thetransaction, subject to regulatory approval, is expected to closeby the end of the year, according to the announcement.
