Legal: Gas station owner settles price-gouging claim

A North Carolina gas station owner accused of chargingnearly $10 per gallon for premium gasoline during the ColonialPipeline shutdown has agreed to a more than $20,000 settlementin the case, according to the state Attorney General's office.Under the settlement, Mansa Travel Center Charlotte LLC,which does business as Queen's Market, will pay restitution todrivers who were charged "unreasonably high prices," the AG'soffice said in an announcement about the $20,305 agreement.The station operator also agreed to install software that recordsthe prices at which it sells gas and the number of gallons sold ateach price, the attorney general's office said.
