Pandemic has little effect on Walmart’s fuel sales

Fuel sales at Walmart Inc. inched slightly lower year on year in its latest quarter between August and October, outperforming other fuel retailers amid the coronavirus pandemic. In its latest fiscal Q3 2020 ending Oct. 31, total U.S. comparable sales (sales at stores open at least a year) that combined gas station revenues at its Walmart U.S. stores and Sam's Club locations showed fuel revenues decreased overall same-store sales by 0.5%. Total U.S. same-store sales rose 6.6% with fuel for Q3, and same-store sales climbed 7.1% without fuel.
