Margins put in strong performance

Gasoline rack-to-retail margins at end-2019 were on solid ground following a generally healthy year for retailers, but they were much propped by very strong West Coast margins. Removing the fourth-quarter average for the West – which was more than triple the level of margins in regions east of the Rockies – from the U.S. average would shake some 6cts/gal out of the total, according to data from OPIS’ MarginPro.
