Convenience store chain Wawa Inc. has agreed topay about $1.4 million to settle claims by more than 300assistant managers who said they were forced to workovertime but weren’t paid for it.The settlement of the federal class-action lawsuit wasapproved by a judge in New Jersey.In the suit, the assistant general managers (AGMs) saidWawa classified them as salaried employees and only paidthem for 40 hours’ work even though the work performeddidn’t include any managerial responsibilities, according tocourt papers in the case.
