AAA survey finds many Americans are skittish about purchasing Evs

Electric vehicles might be getting a lot of buzz, but Americans aren’tready to abandon the gas pumps just yet, according to a new survey by AAA.The auto club’s latest survey found that 16% of Americans say they arelikely to buy an EV the next time they are in the market for a new or usedvehicle. That number has remained unchanged over the last year, AAA said.The survey found that people are concerned about uncertaintiesassociated with relying on EVs for transportation, with 58% of people whoare unlikely to buy an electric vehicle saying there aren’t enough chargingstations, 57% worrying about running out of power while driving and 57%saying EV range is not suitable for long-distance travel.“Like other new vehicle technologies, Americans don’t have the full storyand that could be causing the gap between interest and action,” said GregBrannon, AAA’s director of Automotive Engineering and Industry Relations.
