Truck freight slowed at the end of the third quarter asAmerica’s ongoing economic boom leveled out, according tonew data released by the American Trucking Associations (ATA).The ATA’s advanced seasonally adjusted For Hire TruckTonnage Index in September decreased 0.8% from the month before, while also notching a 2.9% increase fromSeptember 2017.The adjusted Truck Tonnage Index for Septemberwas 111.8, compared to 112.7 for August. August’s indexrepresented a 2% decrease from the previous month and a4.2% year-over-year increase, ATA said.
