Walking to work gaining adherents despite downturn

With the focus of attention in the offshore oil and gas sector firmly on reducing costs, solutions such as offshore access systems and walk-to-work vessels that enable platforms to be accessed quickly, easily and cost-effectively is growing. That walk-to-work is one of the very few growth markets in the industry at the moment is evidenced by the growing number of vessel owners entering it and being awarded contracts. As highlighted in the June 2015 issue of OSJ (page 107), new access systems - such as Van Aalst's Safeway - are also being brought to market.
