ST Teleport and Telespazio join forces

Singapore-based ST Teleport has formed a strategic partnership with Telespazio to offer a global Ku-band communications network for the offshore oil and gas industry. Telespazio's network of seven teleports will connect with ST Teleport's earth station complex in Singapore. Together, they will create secure and reliable global satellite communications solutions using Ku-band on potentially more than 200 satellites. They will converge coverage from different Ku-band beams and use automatic switching technology to offer the global service. The two companies are also in the initial stages of jointly developing other value-added satellite communication services to enhance their portfolio and capabilities, which will be shared in the near future.
