The International Marine Contractors Association (IMCA) gained consultative ('observer') status at the International Maritime Organization (IMO) in 1999 and is the only association at IMO representing offshore marine contracting interests, and it is the 70th session of the IMO Marine Environment Protection Committee (MEPC 70), which met in London in October, that is currently uppermost in its mind.
