Scrapyard fined following driver's death

The owners of a scrap metal yard in Newport have been fined ￡200,000 after a lorry driver died when a crushed car fell from a scrap-heap.Truck driver Adrian Turner was delivering scrap to the site in April 2008 and was directed to deliver his load to the metal shredder area of the yard. He left his cab and was opening the rear doors to his trailer when the one and a half tonne crushed vehicle came loose from the scrap pile and rolled down 20 feet, straight into him.
