Coach firm guilty of 131 drivers1 hours offences

A Middlesex coach company has been fined £137,500 after being found guilty of abusing drivers' hours regulations. BM Coach and Rental Ltd was found guilty of 131 offences at Uxbridge magistrates court. 27 of the firm's drivers also pleaded guilty to various drivers' hours breaches, receiving fines totalling £7,228 plus £2,700 in costs. The prosecution followed an investigation last year by the Vehicle and Operator Services Agency (VOSA). Acting on intelligence, VOSA officers visited the coach company's premises and seized documents including time sheets, pay records and digital tachograph data which shows the time drivers have spent behind the wheel and their rests.
