Veterans' helpline

Veterans with mental health problems can now get targeted support via a 24-hour freephone helpline. The Combat Stress Support Helpline - 0800 138 1619 -provides veterans and their families with expert advice from people trained and experienced in dealing with ex-service men and women and their often complex mental health needs. The Government is providing £200,000 to fund a one-year pilot of the helpline, which is being run by the charities Combat Stress and Rethink Mental Illness.
