The HyFlex~? 11-616 from Ansell Healthcare is a multi-purpose 18-gauge knitted glove that, according to the manufacturer, forms like a second skin on the worker's hands, providing comfort, fit and sensitivity while protecting the hands from abrasions. The glove is especially aimed at those working in small parts assembly, light fabrication, finishing works and packaging. The term gauge refers to the knitting machines' fineness size, which is measured by counting the number of knitting needles per inch. The recently introduced 18-gauge machines (compared to the existing 7-, 10-, 13- or 15-gauge) result in an ultra-thin glove, designed to combine dexterity, fit, comfort and tactile sensitivity to a high degree of precision.
