The Health and Safety Executive (HSE) has a website on health and safety in voluntary organisations. The site gives an overview of what voluntary organisations need to do if they employ people or have responsibility for non-domestic premises such as a community centre, plus advice on how civil law and health and safety law apply to volunteers. There is a 'simple checklist' for managers of village or community halls, plus an array of links to other organisations, resources and guidance on volunteering and social action, which looks at encouraging young people to join in and explains how HSE is attempting to dispel the myths around volunteering and health and safety.
