The HSE's Management Standards approach to tackling work-related stress was launched in 2004rnSince they were launched, the HSE has been monitoring changes in the psychosocial working conditions in the six key areas covered by the Standardsrn■ It is these areas that the HSE is aiming to improve through its Management Standardsrn■ The latest survey data show little change in working conditions across Britain between 2004 and 2008rn■ Even in sectors with the highest reported levels of work-related stress, and which have been targeted by the HSE, there has been little changern■ However, researchers believe the main effects of the Standards will appear over the course of 2008, and predict that they will show improved working conditions followed by an increasing fall in job stressfulness.
