摘要

The fit note has encouraged GPs to look at what their patients can do at work, rather than what they cannot, said GP John Chisholm, speaking at the Faculty of Occupational Medicine's (FOM) annual scientific meeting. Chisholm, who is a Royal College of General Practitioners (RCGP) representative on the Council for Work and Health and the Fit for Work UK Coalition, told FOM delegates about the negative impacts of worklessness on individuals, including: poorer mental and physical health; loss of worth and self-confidence; needing more medical care; and managing with little or no income.
