The long-running age-discrimination case of Seldon v Clarkson Wright and Jakes could finally have come to an end - after seven-and-a-half years -with the Employment Appeal Tribunal (EAT) finding against the individual on the one outstanding issue. The case concerned Leslie Seldon, a partner in a law firm that had imposed a compulsory retirement age of 65. Seldon had been forced to retire on 31 December 2006. He brought a claim for age discrimination to the employment tribunal, which gave its judgment in December 2007. The case made its way through the EAT, the Court of Appeal and eventually to the Supreme Court.
