摘要

Famous scene in the 1979 film Monty Python's Life of Brian is where Reg (John Cleese) asks the People's Front of Judea what benefits the Roman Empire had brought to the region.'All right, but apart from the sanitation, the medicine, education, wine, public order, irrigation, roads, the fresh water-system and public health, what have the Romans ever done for us?' he asks. With the UK now set to leave, one may well ask what the EU has ever done for occupational health: apart from the rights to work and trade across the EU, a framework for OH and safety management, collaborative research, access to EU health services, equal treatment in employment, rights for pregnant women and new mothers, enhanced protection for disabled people, laws governing safer needles, hazardous substances, clean air, lead-free petrol, data protection, working time, noise, vibration, age discrimination, product safety and personal protective equipment... and a strategy on cross-border threats to public health.
