Manufacturing companies reported an average sickness absence rate of 2.3%, or 5.2 days lost per employee a year in 2016, the manufacturing employers' association the EEF has revealed.The rate, reported in the EEF's 14th annual health, wellbeing and sickness absence survey, is similar to that recorded in 2015, with little change over the past eight years. The rate was higher in firms that operated night shifts (2.5%) than in those that did not (2.1%).
