UK workers took an average 5.9 days' sickness absence in 2018 (2.6% of working time), the 19th annual health and wellbeing at work survey by the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD) reveals.The annual absence figure is the lowest ever recorded by the CIPD since it started recording attendance data.The survey also reveals that employers rate OH involvement as the second-most effective mechanism for managing long-term sickness absence (after case management).
