摘要

Fewer than one in six OH professionals believe that the introduction of the'Statement of fitness for work' (fit note) has been successful in helping employees return to work more quickly and/or more sustainably, our latest Tea-breaker poll reveals. The fit note was launched on 6 April 2010. It amended the previous Med3 'doctor's certificate' form to include an optional statement from the GP or hospital doctor stating that the patient 'may be fit for work taking account of the following advice'. The fit note included four check boxes: phased return to work; altered hours; amended duties; and workplace adaptations. There was also space for the GP to add comments, where it was envisioned that doctors would give 'general advice on the impact of their patient's condition and, where appropriate, suggest how a return to work could be facilitated'~1.
