OVER the past decade, there has been an increase in our understanding of the importance of employee health and wellbeing, and the implications that this can have for organisational productivity, society and individuals. In her 2008 report, Working for a healthier tomorrow, Dame Carol Black provided evidence that employee health is good for business, but importantly there needs to be a shift in attitudes to ensure that both employers and employees recognise the importance of preventing ill health at work.
