The federal government would create a clean hydrogen strategy andinvest billions of dollars to lay the foundation for a nationwide hydrogennetwork under the Senate’s bipartisan infrastructure bill.The Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act proposed a substantialexpansion to the scope of the U.S. Department of Energy’s currenthydrogen program and sharpened the initiative’s focus ondecarbonizing the economy. Under the legislation, the DOE would takenew steps to deploy hydrogen technology and facilitate a hydrogeneconomy, including funding several regional production andconsumption hubs.
