NDA 'did well' to end, negotiate new Magnox contract: UK audit office

The UK state-owned Nuclear Decommissioning Authority "did well" to terminate an old contract and negotiate a revised two-year deal with the Cavendish Fluor Partnership in Oct. 2017 for the decommissioning of the UK's fleet of Magnox reactors, the UK's National Audit Office said in a Sept. 9 report. "Progress report: terminating the Magnox contract:" examines the NDA's management of the Magnox decommissioning contract with Cavendish Fluor during the two-year notice of contract termination period of the contract, from Sept. 1, 2017 to Aug. 31, 2019. During that period, a revised contract was negotiated that ran through August 2019.
