Industry, lawmakers, press to end US nuclear energy financing ban

The new US International Development Finance Corporation should overturn a prohibition against financing overseas nuclear energy projects, industry officials and a group of senators have said in letters to the DFC. The DFC will be created from a consolidation of the Overseas Private Investment Corporation and the US Agency for International Development’s Development Credit Authority. Those two agencies had bans in place prohibiting them from supporting nuclear reactor projects.
