Plans to remove radioactive waste from the Hunters Hill region have been put on hold.rnEarlier this month, after it was discovered that the government had plans to move more than 5,000 tons of radioactive waste from Hunters Hill to Kemps Creek, near Badgery's Creek, politicians lashed out.rnPremier Kristina Keneally recently announced she had ruled out using Kemps Creek for what she called the "remediation of materials" from Hunters Hill. She said she has told Land and Property Management Authority chief executive Warwick Watkins to examine other options for transferring the waste.
