The Canadian municipality of Central Huron has added its name as a potential "willing host" for an underground repository for nuclear waste. Mayor Jim Ginn said the community is considering hosting facility as a source of new jobs. The Nuclear Waste Management Organization (NWMO) is sponsoring a tour of the Douglas Point Waste Management facility next to the Bruce Power Plant at Tiverton on June 22 for local officials and residents as part of the application process. The NWMO has reported the process of becoming a potential site for the repository is "community-driven" and "open to any community in Canada."
